Making your own Baby Powder!

Did you know that most commercial baby powder products contain synthetic fragrances that can be irritating to sensitive skin?  I also wonder about the source of the corn used for corn starch as the base of most products, is it GMO free?  I use baby powder all the time as a way to absorb extra moisture and keep my skin feeling soft and cool.  It's also the perfect gift for new mama's and papa's. This is my favourite way to make it, but you can use different flower petals and essential oils to your liking! Ingredients:
2 cups arrowroot powder
2 Tbsp of calendula petals
2 Tbsp of chamomile petals
8-10 drops essential lavender oil - Grind up the petals in a mortar and pestle or a nut/spice grinder.  Mix into arrowroot powder and add oil to infuse throughout.  I put mine in a glass jar and poke some holes in the lid. Arrowroot powder is wonderfully soft and absorbable.  The lavender oil is renowned for its soothing properties and is helpful before bedtime to induce sleep.  Chamomile and calendula petals are both healing and soothing for the skin- great for diaper and heat rashes alike!
