Using bath salts is beneficial for so many reasons. They can soothe sore muscles, reduce tension, clear the respiratory tract, promote better sleep, detoxify pollutants, cleanse the skin, and be a great tool in regular self-care. They also make thoughtful gifts. There’s nothing like extending the invitation for a loved one to take a little time out to nourish themselves and decompress. I’ve got one of my favourite bath salt recipes to share with you, it features herbs that clear the lungs and stimulate circulation. I use this whenever I feel the first signs of an illness coming on and when colder weather has gotten into my bones.
Warming Herbal Bath Salts
2 cup Epsom salt
1 cup dead sea salt or grey rock salt
1/4 cup ginger powder
1/4 cup eucalyptus powder
15 drops peppermint essential oil
10 drops eucalyptus essential oil
5 drops rosemary essential oil
Mix salts together in a large bowl.
Add ground herbal powders and essential oils and stir to combine.
Store in an airtight bag or container.
To use, dissolve 3/4 cup in a full bath and 1/4 cup in a foot bath.
